Michael Madon is a recognized expert in the fields of behavioral analytics, cybersecurity and financial intelligence, a successful entrepreneur who has founded, led, and exited several companies, and retired as an officer and technology scout for the United States Army.

Michael’s professional focus has been on the transformation of big data into actionable insights. He currently serves as the CEO and co-founder of Pretaa, a behavioral analytics software company which helps combat the mental health and drug epidemics plaguing our nation. Using machine learning algorithms, SoS buttons, and positive reinforcement, Pretaa extends the continuum of care to help save lives with the right intervention at the right time.

Previously, he was the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Email, Security Awareness, and Threat Intelligence products at Mimecast (Nasdaq: MIME) a cybersecurity provider that helps thousands of organizations worldwide bolster cyber resilience. In this role he served as the business and P&L leader for these products and was responsible for driving their strategic direction. Mimecast was taken private by Permira in 2022.

Prior to joining Mimecast, Michael was the CEO and co-founder of Ataata, a security awareness training and behavioral risk management platform that helped its customers combat security breaches caused by employee mistakes. In this role, he was responsible for expanding the company, driving growth, and overseeing Ataata's strategy, organization, and culture. Ataata was acquired by Mimecast in 2018.

Before founding Ataata, Michael served as Vice President, Business Development for RedOwl, a behavioral analytics software company that helped identify insider cyber risks. RedOwl was acquired by Raytheon's Forcepoint (Nasdaq: RTN) in 2017.

Michael also served on the Board of Directors of TeleCommunication Systems (Nasdaq: TSYS) a world leader in secure and highly reliable wireless communication technology. In 2016, Comtech Telecommunications Corporation (Nasdaq: CMTL) acquired TeleCommunication Systems.

Michael has and continues to contribute to improving the national security of the United States. He served as a member of the Department of Energy's Innovation Working Group from 2019-2022. In this role, he helped provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy on the Administration's energy policies and economic and national security policy. From 2009-2014, Michael served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Office of Intelligence and Analysis of the Treasury Department where he helped safeguard the US financial system against illicit use and combat rogue states, terrorist facilitators, money launderers, and other national security threats. In recognition of his service, Michael was awarded the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal-the Intelligence Community's highest award. In addition, he received the US Department of the Treasury's Distinguished Service Award.

He currently serves as an Operating Advisor for TZP Group, a Board Advisor for Cyabra, Verdigris Holdings, and the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. He is a Professional Advisor and Mentor for the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, and is a Lecturer on technology related issues at Boston University. Michael also serves as a mentor with the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals and is a member of the National Association for Addiction Professionals and Addiction Treatment Providers.

Michael served as an active-duty and reserve officer in the U.S. Army and retired from the Army as an intelligence officer and tech scout serving in the 75th Innovation Command. He has held leadership positions in Airborne, Mechanized and Military Intelligence Units stateside and overseas. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star.

A graduate of the Command and General Staff College, Michael holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University.

Michael served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
