TZP Group Completes Investment in True Lacrosse to Launch True Sports Group, a Leading Youth Sports Platform

New York, NY – October 7, 2025 – TZP Group has completed a strategic investment in True Lacrosse, launching True Sports Group, a youth sports platform based in Illinois.

Established in 2008, True Sports operates as a national provider of youth travel teams, tournaments, camps, and clinics focused on lacrosse and volleyball, with expansion into additional sports planned. The organization serves over 9,000 athletes across 700 teams in 23 states, employing a structured player development methodology.

This investment represents TZP's third platform entry into youth sports within three years. Prior investments include Soccer Post, the largest local-market soccer specialty retailer with 60+ U.S. locations, and DanceOne, the world's largest dance brand holding company. TZP exited Soccer Post in February 2025 through a management-led recapitalization following significant organic and acquisitive expansion.

Dan Gaspar, TZP Partner, stated: "We are thrilled to partner with Co-Founders Jake Deane and Mike Gabel to help realize the Company's growth potential." He emphasized support for the team's expansion using their proven development approach.

Co-Founder Jake Deane highlighted that "TZP has significant experience in youth sports and shares our vision for building a world-class youth sports business organically as well as through continued acquisitions." Co-Founder Mike Gabel added that "TZP's experience building businesses will further enhance our mission" of serving players, families, and communities nationwide.

The TZP transaction team included Rodney Eshelman, Griffin Niles, Teague Hagerty, and Dan Gaspar. Woodland Park Capital Advisors and Winston & Strawn LLP provided financial and legal advisory services to TZP, while Greenwich Advisory and Ice Miller LLP advised True Sports.
