TZP completes investment in BQ Resort
TZP Capital Partners I, L.P., a New York-based private equity fund, has closed its investment in BQ Resorts, LLC, an independent timeshare and hospitality company. The firm specializes in acquiring vacation ownership inventory, selling memberships, and providing buyer financing and resort management.
Founded in 2002 and based in Las Vegas, BQ Resorts operates under the Starpoint Resort Group brand. It markets and finances GeoHoliday Club memberships and is the founding developer of GeoHoliday Club Inc., a multi-location timeshare membership organization.
At closing, BQ Resorts acquired: (a) a hospitality and resort management company providing fee-for-service operations to timeshare homeowner associations across fifteen GeoHoliday Club resorts; and (b) two Canadian and Bahamian timeshare clubs representing over 13,000 members and nine additional resort locations.
Following these acquisitions, BQ Resorts operates as a fully integrated company managing timeshare clubs across twenty-four resorts domestically and internationally, serving approximately 30,000 members.
"This strategic partnership provides us with access to capital and resources to support Starpoint's next phase of growth," said CEO Michael J. Muldoon.
"I have yet to see a model as appropriate for the industry as that of Starpoint," remarked TZP Managing Partner Samuel L. Katz.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. TZP's transaction team included Samuel L. Katz, Nathan Chandrasekaran, Andrew Hollod, and Ryan Dunn; Katz and Chandrasekaran joined BQ Resorts' Board of Directors.
