Christy Sports Continues Expansion in Big Sky Montana With Acquisition of Grizzly Outfitters

Lakewood, CO -- December 15, 2022

Christy Sports announced the acquisition of Grizzly Outfitters, a specialty outdoor retail and rental operator in Big Sky, Montana. The deal closed on December 15, 2022, with financial terms undisclosed.

Grizzly Outfitters has operated for nearly three decades at 11 Lone Peak Drive, Suite 101 in Big Sky Town Center, positioned seven miles from Big Sky Resort's slopes. The facility features rental and demo equipment, a retail shop, precision ski tuning, and repair services. This marks Christy Sports' second Montana location, complementing an existing slope-side rental store opened in Big Sky Mountain Village the previous winter.

Gary Montes de Oca, Chief Development and Strategy Officer, stated: "We are excited to continue our strategic growth into Montana and offer guests the Christy Sports Difference." He emphasized the acquisition expands their omnichannel network across the Rockies.

Sellers Ken Lancey and Andrew Schreiner cited alignment with Christy Sports' values, particularly the shared motto of "never settle for second best." Dan Fox, Chief Store Operations Officer, noted: "The staff at Grizzly Outfitters shares the same passion for guest service that we have at Christy Sports."

The store will operate under its current name and location through winter 2022-2023 to minimize disruption, with a full transition to Christy Sports branding planned for summer 2023.
